Hailing from the small town of Ijamsville, MD, it was his last month of senior year in high school when Freddie experienced his first big taste of success as a performer/songwriter. Writing and recording a piano ballad for his graduation entitled “It’s Only Just Begun,” Freddie and his music were embraced by his community and "It's Only Just Begun" soon earned regular radio play on Key 103.1 FM in Frederick, MD. Then it was off to Lebanon Valley College where Freddie majored in Music Recording Technology and minored in Physics, performing and writing throughout his tenure.
Fresh out of college and looking to continue his music career with a larger live arrangement, Freddie auditioned several musicians, finding some of the most talented players in his area and forming The Freddie Long Band in late August of 2005.
